In Raleigh, Hire Maids for your Valentine

Posted by Judy Burrell -   Hey Guys.  Are you wondering what to get your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day that’s unique, not fattening, totally appreciated and every woman will love?  I actually requested this as a gift this year for Valentine’s Day from my hubby  --  it’s having a Maid Service come clean the house for your Sweetheart!  How wonderful to walk back in after a long day at work and be greeted by a sparkling clean home.  Every woman loves a clean home, but it’s quite an effort to get there on your own.  How much of a reaction will you get from another box of chocolate?

We live in Raleigh, North Carolina and use a service called The Maids.  They’re part of a national franchise and they’re insured and bonded so I never have worries about them in our home. They come with three or four people, spend 1-2 hours cleaning and then they’re gone and the house is beautiful

So guys, if you’re stumped on what to get your sweetie this year for Valentine’s Day, consider the gift of a wonderfully clean home!  Call Becky or Angela at The Maids at 919-828-8400 and tell her Judy Burrell sent you.  We have used them for more than 10 years, and their service is excellent.

Your sweetheart will have more time and energy to pamper you!

Valentines Day: Fun Books for Kids

Posted by Judy Burrell -  Since I live in Raleigh in the Triangle area of North Carolina, and my grandkids live in Colorado, I like to send fun things for my grandkids to do on holidays.  I recently made “Valentine Fun Books" for them.  If you go to and search for things like “Valentine Coloring Pages”  “Valentine Mazes, “Valentine Dot to Dot,” “Valentine Riddles” and “Valentine Word Search”, you will find lots of fun things for kids to do around Valentine’s Day.  You can print the pages without registering, so you won’t be bombarded with junk emails.

So for my 7 year old grandson I printed off several mazes, crosswords, riddles and math puzzles.  The five year old has coloring pages, dot to dots and a few easy mazes.  For the 3 year old I only printed out coloring pages, since he’s too little to do the more advanced activities.  Then I stapled the pages together with a cute valentine cover I made and now I have three custom “Valentine Fun Books” to send off to my grandkids.

Of course, I am also sending candies, hearts, cards and other traditional Valentie presents.  As you can see, I take the grandparent's obligation to spoil their grandchildren very seriously.

Good news could be on the way for homeowners having a difficult time making their mortgage payments. Later today, Attorney General Roy Cooper will announce a plan to help North Carolina homeowners avoid unnecessary foreclosure.
Although the Raleigh, Durham, Triangle area has had a relatively stable market, sales did drop 19% in December 2007 and North Carolina foreclosures have risen 9.4% in 2007 according to the states banking commission.  It is forecasted that foreclosure will peak in the middle of 2008.
The average home price did rise slightly from $236,628 to $237,499. However, it has become more difficult for homeowners to sell their homes on their own because consumers have been drawn toward searching online and through the mls. It is advised that if you are having difficulty making your mortgage payment to consult a Realtor to discuss your options. If you are facing foreclosure or interested in viewing foreclosure properties feel free to contact Team For Your Dreams for assistance.
