Why Use Buyers Agents?

Why Use Buyers Agents?

When you go to court, do you want to use the other side's attorney or do you want your own representation?

Unfortunately, many people go to new home communities, talk with the agent who represents the builder, and use that representative to help them buy a home. The "On Site" agents work for the builder.  They want to help the builder do as well as possible so that they can keep their job. The State of North Carolina warns you when you talk to the Seller's Agent, "you should avoid saying anything you do not want a seller to know." Do you want to have such a poor relationship with a real estate agent that you cannot be comfortable telling them information that is important for the transaction?

The Team for Your Dreams works for you.  First the buyers agent searches all the homes for sale, giving you the widest possible choice, including most "for sale by owners." We help you focus on the best homes for your needs.  Then we advise you about the merits and the problems with the homes. You need to know the flaws in the home to make an informed decision.  When you find your home, Tim, our retired attorney, writes and negotiates the contract, using negotiating skills honed over two decades.

The State of North Carolina provides a detailed discussion of Buyers Agents, Sellers Agents and Dual Agents. To read all about these types of agents, click here.  In fact, the law requires that you review this information and sign a confirmation that you received a copy of it.
